Texas Joins Amazon Wine List
Amazon.com has added Texas to the states where it will deliver wine, marking the addition of four states since the service was launched in November. Texas wineries have also been added to the service.
With the addition of Texas, Amazon Wine now offers direct-to-consumer shipping in 16 states and the District of Columbia. Currently, Amazon Wine has enlisted 350 wineries and 2,200 labels. In its press release this week, Amazon called out brands including Messina Hof, Becker Vineyards, and McPherson Cellars. Customers can ship up to six bottles of wine for $9.99.
According to the Wine Institute, the U.S. wine market is an estimated $35 billion. Since 2001, the U.S. wine market has grown by almost 50%, and is expected to continue growing over the next decade.
On Amazon Wine product pages, customers can view information about each wine's American Viticultural Area (AVA), composition, and alcohol content. Other information includes winemaker details, tasting notes, food pairing suggestions, and total case production.
