ICF International's ICF GHK Wins $5 Million Energy Efficiency Contract to Support UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ICF International (NAS: ICFI) , a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has been awarded a contract with the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to support the improvement of energy efficiency. The contract, awarded to London-based ICF GHK after a Europe-wide tender exercise, is expected to be worth around $5 million over three years and can be extended for a further two years.

ICF's responsibilities under the contract include the provision of evidence, analysis and advice to support Defra to make decisions on policies to improve the energy efficiency and other environmental impacts of energy using products. This includes maintenance and development of the evidence base and input to cost benefit analysis.

"We are delighted to have been appointed to this important role and to contribute strongly to energy savings in the UK and EU," said Mark Allington, vice president for ICF International. "We look forward to providing Defra with a high quality, value for money, service and to expanding our energy efficiency work more broadly in the UK and throughout Europe."

"This work continues ICF's tradition of serving government clients worldwide in working to improve energy efficiency, thereby conserving natural resources and improving economies," said Jeanne Townend, executive vice president for ICF International. "We are especially pleased to be expanding our work with UK Defra, using the combined capabilities of ICF and our 2012 acquisition, GHK."

ICF is a specialist in the delivery of programs on energy efficiency and energy using products (EuPs), and is trusted by governments to deliver some of the world's most important initiatives.
