Zynga's Battlestone looks to pack a beautiful punch on mobile

Updated

Late last year, Zynga announced the acquisition of November Software and the development of a new mobile action arcade game called Battlestone. Now, Battlestone studio CTO Szymon Swistun has released some major new details about the game, which is set to launch later this year.

Battlestone offers 3D action RPG gameplay, as gamers can defeat enemies and win boss battles with a simple swipe of the finger. Depending on the touch control action, players can select and target multiple enemies at once, creating massive combinations that can easily turn the tide of battle. In addition to NPC bosses and enemies, player-vs-player combat is introduced to the experience thanks to player guilds and PvP tournaments.

As players make their way through the fantasy / medieval worlds of Battlestone, they'll be able to upgrade their characters with various abilities, and characters themselves may come with an elemental affiliation. The more characters you collect in the game, the more options you'll have for attacking enemies in battle.

The world of Battlestone looks to be a highly detailed and beautiful one, according to the first screenshots Zynga has revealed so far. Stay tuned for more on Battlestone in the coming weeks, as we'll bring you all of the news you need to know about Zynga's upcoming mid-core mobile project.
