WATERTOWN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jonathan Bush, CEO and Chairman of athenahealth, Inc. (NAS: ATHN) , a leading provider of cloud-based services for electronic health record (EHR), practice management and care coordination, heads to TEDMED in Washington, D.C. next week to deliver a talk to the 1,800 leaders and thinkers in attendance about broken profit motives in health care, how innovation and change has been stunted, and to explore the prescription for tackling new frontiers.
In his presentation, Bush will share his belief that too many good people are doing bad things in health care today and making a profit in opposition to the market - patients - they serve. What's needed, Bush asserts, is an open market for health care that will incent the "crazy ones" to bring their best ideas to health care and innovate in an industry that is still playing catch up with every other sector.
