Financial center in Caribbean offers consumers access to money transfer services

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MoneyGram (NYS: MGI) , a leading global money transfer company, and The Neal & Massy Group, a conglomerate operating in the Caribbean, announced at a press conference today the opening of their first stand-alone money transfer center in the Caribbean, located in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. MoneyGram and Neal & Massy executives gathered to commemorate the new money transfer center located at Uptown Mall, 44-48 Edward Street, Port of Spain.

The new money transfer center will employ a dedicated staff to offer MoneyGram's money transfer services and Neal & Massy's Sure Pay bill payment service. Both product offerings will provide consumers with an additional, convenient location to send and receive cash locally and internationally. Hours for the new location are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday through Friday.

"MoneyGram's relationship with Neal & Massy goes back nearly 15 years, so we're incredibly proud to join with them to launch the new money transfer center in this important Caribbean market," said Pedro Saro Campos, vice president of Latin America, Mexico, MoneyGram. "Just as MoneyGram brings families closer through money transfer services, ventures such as money transfer center location bring us closer to our key agents."

Curtis Tobal, chairman, Consumer Finance Business Unit of Neal & Massy, said the new venture represents Neal & Massy's commitment to working with MoneyGram to grow business for the two companies, and its belief in the MoneyGram brand and value proposition. Neil & Massy will be applying best practices from the company's other businesses to the operation of the new money transfer center, including the development of cross-promotions with the company's grocery stores, offering incentives to customers to visit the money transfer center.

"Our company's investment of human and financial capital in this first-of-its-kind concept in the Caribbean reinforces our strong belief in the importance of the remittance industry to the economy in this region," said Tobal. "The MoneyGram brand has been an integral part of our business, and now with almost 30 locations, we're bringing even greater convenience and an improved in-store experience to our customers."
