Updated

MV Oil Trust is to hand out its second distribution of the year. The energy trust will distribute a total of slightly over $10 million in profit on April 25 to unit holders as of April 15. That equates to $0.87 per unit.

The distribution is 28% higher than the company's previous payout, which totaled $7.82 million, or $0.68 per unit. Prior to that, MV Oil Trust handed out $8.625 million and $0.75, respectively.

Due to the company's trust structure, its distributions can vary from quarter to quarter, at times, significantly.

The new disbursement annualizes to $3.48 per share. That yields 12.8% at MV Oil Trust's current unit price of $27.24.
