Ballistic brings futuristic FPS gaming to Facebook this year

Updated

The quest to create a must-play shooter on Facebook continues as Brazilian developer Aquiris Game studio and California-based Rumble Entertainment are set to launch Ballistic on Facebook sometime this year. While Ballistic isn't the first Facebook game to promise "AAA-quality" first-person-shooter gameplay on Facebook, it is arguably the prettiest, as a new trailer (and screenshots released back in January) lead us to believe.

Ballistic is set in the near future as two rival factions are engaged in a war to the death over a new type of energy. Players will be able to destroy the opposition in multiple gameplay modes, from standard Team Deathmatch and Capture Points to King of the Hill. The game was created via Unity, which provides for high-quality graphics in Facebook or browser games, and the game's first trailer shows off what has been in development for quite some time.

The Ballistic beta will begin this Spring as gamers will finally be able to get their hands on this futuristic shooter. If you'd like to be one of them, make sure to sign up for the beta on the game's official website. Keep checking back with us, as we'll bring you more details about Ballistic as we get closer to its launch.
