PennDOT Awards Baker Open-End Construction Inspection Contract

HARRISBURG, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE MKT: BKR), has been chosen by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Engineering District 2-0, to provide construction inspection services on a district-wide, open-end contract for projects in Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Juniata, McKean, Mifflin and Potter Counties, Pa. This $2 million contract began in March 2013 and is expected to last for up to five years.

The contract will include various roadway, structure and/or new bridge replacements/rehabilitation construction projects. It is anticipated that up to 20 construction inspectors will be employed on this agreement.
