GameStop CEO: Xbox 720 a 'very hot, compelling device'

Updated

The general public has yet to see what Microsoft has up its sleeve with the Xbox 720, or next Xbox if you will, but GameStop CEO J. Paul Raines had some pretty positive things to say about the next-gen console.

"We've been spending a lot of time with Microsoft, but we have to let them take the lead on this, but it will be a very hot, compelling device," Raines told GamesIndustry.

"They are doing some really cool stuff, and I'm eager to hear them start their announcements because I think the world is going to stand up and take notice."

Elsewhere in the interview, Raines talked about the concept of pre-owned games, a hot topic of late. Sony's recently patented anti-used game tech was thought to be related to blocking pre-owned games on the PS4, though multiple Sony sources have tried to assure consumers that is not the case. Meanwhile, recent Xbox 720 leaks seem to indicate used or pre-owned games will not be supported on Microsoft's next console.
