Angry Birds Friends seeks even more friends on iOS, Android this May

There's always room for one more Angry Birds game on your iPhone, no? Sure there is, and if not, you'll make room, dammit. Rovio has decided that it's time for yet another bird-flinging game on mobile: Angry Birds Friends on Facebook. This will be the first (and only, really) Facebook game from Rovio to release on mobile devices, and judging from the numbers, it's about time.

The Finnish studio revealed player stats recently at a developer event in Finland, namely that Angry Birds Friends on Facebook boasts 1.2 million daily players, 10 million monthly players and that 60 million Facebook users have installed the game to date. Of course, Rovio isn't satisfied with those numbers, because it's used to billions, not millions.

Aside from the screen shot above of the game in action on an iPad, not much else is known about the game to date other than Facebook integration through leaderboards, sharing and gifting. However, it should be safe to expect cross-platform support as well as at least a few new levels, but that's purely wishful thinking at this point. No official release date has been announced, so we guess you're stuck with refreshing the App Store every hour once May 1 hits.
