Golf Fans Say 'Amen' to DIRECTV's Expansive Masters Tournament Coverage

Exclusive Six-Channel Masters Mosaic Combines CBS Sports and ESPN Coverage; Interactive Leader Board Offers In-depth Hole-by-hole Player Stats - Only on DIRECTV

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DIRECTV will tee up another round of expanded, interactive coverage of golf's most prestigious event, the 2013 Masters Tournament April 11-14.

Golf fans will soak up the history and tradition of the renowned Augusta National Golf Club while watching complimentary coverage of Tournament play through DIRECTV's Masters Mosaic Channel, featuring CBS Sports' and ESPN's live HD coverage of the Tournament. An interactive app also allows viewers to display the leader board at the touch of a button and directly access hole-by-hole stats for each player in the field.

Available only on DIRECTV, the Masters Mosaic will offer six views of the Tournament: the main CBS Sports/ESPN feed; two "Featured Group" channels; "Amen Corner," complete coverage of the most famous stretch of Augusta National; holes 15 and 16; and "Masters in Depth," along with a continuously running leader board featuring live tee times, scoring and leaders' locations on the course. Each extra channel is fully produced with its own announcers.

Viewers will have access to the following interactive menu of features throughout the Tournament on any of the six Masters channels:

  • Top Five Leaders - displays the top five current scores in relation to par. An "Expand" option takes viewers directly to the full leader board.

  • Leader Board - provides information on all golfers in the field including each player's hole-by-hole stats - both current and previous rounds - through the score card feature, displaying greens hit in regulation, driving distance and putting average. A customizable leader board lets fans select their favorite player and place them on top of the board to more easily track their scores.

  • Course Tour - provides fans with a birds-eye, fly-over video of each hole and a description of any of Augusta National's 18 holes.

  • Masters Quiz - challenges fans with 10 questions, refreshed daily, about the history of the Masters and Augusta National, and the day's action on course.

"DIRECTV, the Masters Tournament, CBS Sports and ESPN are looking forward to providing the fans at home a close-up, in-depth view of golf's most celebrated tournament," said Alex Kaplan, vice president, Revenue and Product Marketing, DIRECTV. "The Mosaic channel and interactive features are designed to delight and engage fans who love the game of golf. With the Masters Tournament as the stage, it doesn't get any better than this."
