Freeport-McMoRan Declares New Dividend

Updated

Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold plans to dispense a fresh quarterly dividend. The company will distribute $0.3125 per share of its common stock on May 1 to shareholders of record as of April 15. That amount matches its past four quarterly payouts. Previous to that, it paid $0.25 per share.

The company tends to pay dividends on a regular basis, although it suspended its disbursement for all of 2009. It has also declared the occasional special dividend, most recently in early 2011 when it handed out $0.50 per share.

The current regular dividend annualizes to $1.25 per share. That yields 3.7% at Freeport-McMoRan's current stock price of $33.36.
