King.com GDC Dominance A Potential Sign Of The Times

The 2013 Game Developers Conference is about to kick off in San Francisco, and this year's show has a distinctly different vibe than previous GDC events. Ads for Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and other console makers have been replaced by King.com, without question one of the biggest mobile game publishers, and why not? The company's flagship title, Candy Crush Saga, continues to entertain both iOS and Android players around the world.


With this in mind, it's great to see such a huge mobile presence at the show. Not only did King put the Candy Crush logo and assorted sweets on the official GDC lanyard, but we also spied people in candy costumes handing out jelly beans. There's even Candy Crush and Bubble Witch Saga advertising throughout the city.
