Interactive Intelligence Plans to Add 250 Indiana-based Jobs

Planned growth would result in a total of approximately 1,000 local jobs by year's end

INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (NAS: ININ) , a global provider of unified IP business communications solutions, plans to add 250 Indiana-based jobs by year's end, according to company founder and CEO, Dr. Donald E. Brown.

"Our planned 25 percent increase in Indiana staff this year tops our hiring rate for the same period last year, which was 18 percent," Dr. Brown said. "These consistent increases in hiring have been fueled by our growing cloud communications line of business, along with our ability to attract larger and larger customers worldwide. Both drivers have opened up a lot of great opportunities for Indiana talent wanting to work with the latest technologies and interact with some of the foremost brands in the world."

In 2012, Interactive Intelligence generated more than $55 million in total Indiana payroll compensation. This year the company estimates it will generate more than $65 million in Indiana payroll compensation.

The company's planned growth would increase its current Indiana headcount to a total of approximately 1,000 employees by year's end.

With its addition of local jobs, Interactive Intelligence also plans to expand office space.

"We're planning to expand our world headquarters in Indianapolis this year by about 40,000 square feet, which would result in nearly 300,000 square feet spanning four buildings," Dr. Brown said. "As we continue to expand, we've stayed dedicated to our mission of creating an environment that fuels employee creativity, energy and pride through features such as an on-site fitness program, health care clinic and café."

Dr. Brown founded Interactive Intelligence in 1994 and has since grown it from a dozen-person start-up, to a publicly traded global company generating $237 million in annual revenues and employing more than 1,400 people worldwide.

"We're the type of company that doesn't look back, so while I'm incredibly proud of our employees' aptitude and efforts, we'll keep looking for new ways to increase our success," Dr. Brown said. "Examples this year include a much larger global conference we're hosting at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis in May, which is expected to draw more than 2,000 people. We're also working hard to expand our Indiana customer base, adding to such respected local companies as Angie's List, Eli Lilly and Company, ExactTarget, Finish Line, Indianapolis Children's Museum, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indiana University, NCAA, Roche Diagnostics, Sagamore Health Network, Sallie Mae, St. Vincent, The State of Indiana, Wheaton Van Lines, and Xerox Business Services."

For its consistent growth and investment in creating a progressive work environment, Interactive Intelligence has received numerous local accolades, including being named for the seventh consecutive year among the 2013 Indiana Chamber of Commerce's "Best Places to Work in Indiana," and for the ninth consecutive year among the 2013 Indianapolis Business Journal's "Largest Indianapolis-Area Software Developers" (ranked second).

In 2012 Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels honored Dr. Brown with the Sagamore of the Wabash award, an annual honorary award that pays tribute to someone who has made a significant contribution to life in the Hoosier state.
