Oracle to Acquire Network Signaling Company Tekelec

Updated

Enterprise software giant Oracle is acquiring Tekelec, a company specializing in network signaling, policy control, and subscriber data management solutions, Oracle announced today.

Tekelec's offerings help telecom service providers manage and monetize mobile data, and the company has more than 300 service provider customers in more than 100 countries.

The transaction will further bolster Oracle's presence in the telecommunications market and will complement its proposed acquisition of Acme Packet, which was announced last month and has yet to close. Oracle said that combining the two companies with its Oracle Communications capabilities will offer a complete suite of services for customers looking to improve operations and control network resources.

Financial terms of the Tekelec transaction were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2013.
