TripAdvisor Makes an Acquisition

Updated

TripAdvisor has acquired Tiny Post, a popular photo app for the Apple ecosystem. The app's team is to be relocated to the online travel company's office in Palo Alto, California.

The terms of the deal were not, and will not be, disclosed.

Tiny Post allows users to write captions on photos they take on their Apple mobile devices, then post them on popular social media websites. The app began life as Tiny Review, relaunching as Tiny Post in the summer of 2012.

The acquisition adds to TripAdvisor's sizeable portfolio of travel-related assets. In addition to its namesake website, these include airfarewatchdog.com, cruisecritic.com, and virtualtourist.com.
