Caterpillar won a $633 million contract from the Department of Defense on Friday. The DOD awarded Caterpillar the "fixed-price with economic-price-adjustment contract" for the supply of "material handling equipment," a category that could include anything from forklifts to actual Caterpillar-brand material handlers.

Caterpillar will be asked to supply the equipment to Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and federal civilian agency locations in the U.S. and abroad.

This contract runs through March 21, 2018.
