GenVec Q4 Net Loss Deepens

GenVec results for the company's Q4 and fiscal 2012 have been released. For the quarter, revenue was $1.5 million, less than half the $3.4 million of the same period the previous year. Attributable net loss deepened over that time span, to $3.2 million ($0.24 per diluted share), from Q4 2011's shortfall of $2.5 million ($0.19).

On average, analysts had anticipated revenue of $3.7 million, and a per-share loss of $0.27.

For the full year, top line was $9.5 million, far below the 2011 figure of $17.7 million. Net loss plunged further into the red, to $14.1 million ($1.09 per diluted share) for the year against 2011's $7.4 million ($0.58).
