Elbit Wins $80 Million Armored Fighting Vehicle Contract

Elbit Systems Electro-optics Elop, a subsidiary of Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems , has been awarded a contract worth approximately $80 million to upgrade an unspecified Asian customer's armored fighting vehicles. The program will be carried out over a two-year period.

"We are very proud of this award, further attesting to our unique capabilities in AFV upgrades and our recognition as world leaders, based on our past performance in this field," Elop general manager Adi Dar was quoted as saying.

In the past few weeks Elbit subsidiaries have won several contracts, including ones for multipurpose electronic warfare equipment , its Hermes 900 UAV, and for logistics equipment.


Under the contract announced today, Elop will integrate advanced systems for enhanced effectiveness of the weapon systems installed onboard the armored fighting vehicles, including for nighttime operations.
