Semtech Sells Product Line to Embrionix

Updated

Semtech has divested itself of its video optical module product line. The company said it had sold the business to video equipment maker Embrionix, a privately held concern headquartered in Quebec.

In the press release announcing the move, Semtech intimated that this is probably the start of a tighter relationship between the two companies, saying that it "sets the foundation for ongoing cooperation on future products."

Semtech said it didn't consider video optical module goods to be part of its core business.

Neither the terms nor the price of the deal was disclosed in the press release.
