FirstEnergy Declares Quarterly Dividend

Updated

FirstEnergy has declared its latest quarterly dividend. The utility will hand out $0.55 per share of its common stock on June 1 to shareholders of record as of May 7. That payout matches the company's usual disbursement, which it has been paying since early 2008. Before that, FirstEnergy dispensed $0.50 per share.

In its Q4, the Ohio-based utility posted revenue of $3.5 billion and a net loss of $148 million ($0.35 per share) on a GAAP basis. For fiscal 2012, those figures were $15.3 billion and $771 million ($1.85), respectively.

The new dividend annualizes to $2.20 per share. That yields 5.3% at FirstEnergy's current stock price of $41.60.
