Sequenom Delays 2012 10-K

Sequenom won't file its 10-K annual report for its fiscal 2012 "in a timely manner." The company admitted in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it won't submit the documentation in time because of what it termed an "accounting classification error." That error affects the annual and interim results as of end-2011 and 2010, and for the 2009, 2010, and 2011 fiscal years, which Sequenom says "should not be relied upon."

The company was to file the 10-K on March 18. It said it intends to submit it within the 15-day extension period granted by the Securities Exchange Act.
