Fusion-io has purchased a software defined storage, or SDS, company. It announced in a press release that it has acquired ID7, a privately held operation that it described as a "pioneer" in the SDS space.
ID7, a U.K.-based enterprise founded in 2006, concentrates on storage software solutions using a range of interfaces.
Fusion-io said the ID7 team is to join the acquiring company and "will continue to collaborate with Fusion-io engineering from their current locations across Europe and the United States."
Neither the terms nor the price of the acquisition was disclosed in the press release.
