Look, we know you love Pokemon. Who doesn't (aside from this particular editor in chief)? But, unless you're 13 or younger, please do not present this Pikachu-branded 3DS XL in public, unless you're impervious to strange looks offensive language. Now, we'll never say "please do not buy this Pikachu-branded 3DS XL," because that would be crazy talk.

Nintendo has announced that this bad boy (girl ... it?) will hit U.S. shelves for $199.99 on March 24 alongside the release of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity for the handheld console. Of course, Pikachu plays a starring role ... yet no bundle has been announced for the console and the game.

However, customers who register a new 3DS XL (with or without Pikachu's cute mug on the lid) and either Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity or Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon between March 21 and April 30 will score a free download code for one of the following games:

  • Super Mario 3D Land

  • Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask

  • Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!

  • Star Fox 64 3D

  • Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive!

Not really a bundle, but that'll do, Nintendo, that'll do.

Are you going to pick up a Pikachu Edition 3DS XL? What do you think of its look? Add Comment.
