3D Printing Revolutionizing Customization

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Massive Dynamics Inc. (OTCQB: MSSD) is entering a new frontier with 3D printing technology. One must think beyond turning blueprints into a three dimensional model to understand the impact that this technology will have on the fields of manufacturing, healthcare, fashion and much more. Customization is key - from sneakers to skulls, industry news is focusing on how creating products for a specific individual has never been more accessible.

In a press release earlier this week, New Balance announced that it is now using 3D printing to customize high performance running shoes. The company has developed a proprietary process using an individual's biomedical data to customize 3D printed spike plates that will enhance an athlete's performance. Down the road, New Balance will be able to make a completely customized shoe based on running style, anatomy and personal preferences.

Similarly, CBS News reported that 3D printing technology was used to customize an implant replacing 75 percent of a patient's skull this past week. "The world of skulls is not one-size-fits-all. Much like an expensive pair of bespoke shoes, these skull implants are unique to the individual," stated the report. In an article on custom hearing aids being additively manufactured for comfort and functionality Forbes stated, "We will greatly expand our capability to customize products on an individual basis."

"3D printing has the potential to revolutionize the way we customize products," said Massive Dynamics Inc. President Oscar Hines. "A consumer's wants, needs and desires will all be able to be met much easier than before with this new technology and Massive Dynamics is proud to be a part of this change."
