YPF Increases Sales but Misses Estimates on Earnings

YPF (NYS: YPF) reported earnings on March 12. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS details
EPS came in at $0.51. The one earnings estimate compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.56 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.51 for Q4 were 11% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.46 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.53 for Q4 were 13% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.47 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 25.0%, 410 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 12.0%, 240 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 5.4%, 20 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $3.37 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.54.
