Netflix Introduces Facebook Integration

Updated

Online video streamer Netflix has introduced new social features for its popular service. The company is integrating with Facebook to share favorite TV shows and movies with friends and family. There will be a new "Watched by your friends" section, where users can see what friends have rated highly.

There will be privacy settings, so users can choose not to share certain titles that they have watched. Users will also have other additional sharing options on Facebook and can easily turn off the feature. The new social integration will roll out in the U.S. first and should be fully implemented to all domestic members by week's end.

With the rise of social media, it's natural for Netflix to expand the social appeal of its service. CEO Reed Hastings also sits on Facebook's board of directors.
