Baker Awarded NJTA Facilities Upgrade Construction Services Contract

HAMILTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE MKT:BKR), has been awarded a 23-month, $6.5 million contract to provide supervision of construction services for the first phase of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority's (NJTA) non-roadway facilities upgrade program, which will bring NJTA's assets up to current standards and into a state of good repair.

Specifically, Baker and its team members will provide a broad range of services in support of the multi-phased program, which includes the replacement of the NJTA District 6 Maintenance Facility and three State Police Stations as part of the first phase of the program. New Jersey project areas planned under this award include Secaucus, Newark, Galloway and Mount Laurel. The total program, scheduled to continue through 2017, includes the construction of over 40 new buildings and rehabilitation of over 50 facilities.
