Sanchez Energy (NYS: SN) reported earnings on March 7. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31 (Q4), Sanchez Energy whiffed on revenues and missed estimates on earnings per share.

EPS came in at $0.05. The 10 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.15 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.05 for Q4 were 67% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.03 per share. GAAP EPS were -$0.03 for Q4 versus -$0.06 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 88.4%, 340 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 1.9%, much better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -6.7%, much better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $37.2 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.23.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $204.3 million. The average EPS estimate is $1.41.
