Zep Inc. Completes Third Phase of SAP Enterprise Control Center 6.0 ERP Solution

Expect improved productivity, inventory management, delivery cycle time and business intelligence to contribute to annualized cost savings of $1.5 - $2.0 million beginning in Fiscal 2014

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Zep Inc. (NYS: ZEP) , a leading consumable packaged goods company, today announced that it has completed the third phase of its Enterprise Control Center ("ECC") 6.0 ERP Solution from SAP.

Zep Inc.'s ERP process began a number of years ago with implementations for the financial reporting and procurement value streams. In May of 2011 Zep began the third phase of the project that focused on the order entry, manufacturing, shipment, invoicing and collections processes for our North American Sales & Service business. In early December of 2012, we went live with this functionality onto SAP's ECC 6.0 ERP solution.

Key Benefits of the SAP ECC 6.0 ERP Platform:

  • Improved order delivery cycle time to the customer

  • Improved inventory management, reducing the need for working capital

  • Improved productivity from expanded Warehouse Management System (WMS)

  • Improved productivity from implementation of standard processes

  • Access to timely and accurate information about the business

  • Enhanced product compliance management through integrated Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) functionality.

"I'm extremely proud of the ERP implementation team," said John K. Morgan, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Zep Inc. "This platform greatly enhances our ability to serve our customers and improve our productivity with real-time information provided by a fully integrated system. This system will serve as the foundation for Zep, and over the next couple of years, we envision migrating our other businesses to this platform. In fact, we will begin integrating our newly acquired vehicle care business over the next couple of quarters."

"By all measures, this has been a highly successful ERP implementation," said Kevin M. Beattie, VP of Information Technology. "We continue to optimize the system and are encouraged by the marked improvement in our key performance indicators."
