Semtech Beats on Q4 Estimates, Q1 Guidance

Semtech has reported its Q4 and 2013 results. For the quarter, net sales amounted to $151 million, up 45% from the same period the previous year. Net profit was $33 million ($0.49 per diluted share), compared to Q4 2012's $22 million ($0.32).

On average, analysts were anticipating $149 million in top line, and EPS of $0.43.

For the full year, net sales were $579 million, or just over 20% above the 2011 figure of $481 million. Net profit landed at $115 million ($1.70 per diluted share), against fiscal 2012's $120 million ($1.78).


Semtech also provided guidance for its current quarter. It believes net sales will come in at $154 million-$162 million, capital expenditures will reach about $10 million, and EPS will total $0.43-$0.49.Analysts had been modeling $153 million and $0.45, respectively.
