Guidance Software Launches EnCase® App Central

EnCase App Central is a one-stop shop for EnScript® apps that automate and extend digital investigation functionality in EnCase® products for its community of users

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Guidance Software Inc. (NAS: GUID) , the World Leader in Digital Investigations™, today announced the availability of EnCase® App Central, a new online community and marketplace for digital investigators that provides access to apps, best practices, and community support.

EnCase App Central will include both free and paid apps built using the EnScript programming language. Each app is vetted and tested by a technical team at Guidance Software before it is made available at EnCase App Central. More than 50,000 investigators trained and licensed in the use of EnCase® solutions can now leverage these EnScript® apps to automate and add to the functionality of their EnCase software for more effective and streamlined digital investigations.

"The EnScript programming language has long been a key feature of EnCase technology. The potential of the EnScript language to enhance EnCase products for specific needs has resulted in a community of developers who contribute greatly to the strength of EnCase," said Victor Limongelli, president and chief executive officer of Guidance Software. "Our customers gain added value and confidence from the fact that our team tests each EnScript app before it's accepted for listing in the store. EnCase App Central is part of our ongoing commitment to helping our users get the most from EnCase."

In addition to the availability of free and paid apps, EnCase App Central provides a forum where users can share ideas, or pose and answer questions about digital investigation procedures and processes. Also available in the marketplace will be reporting templates, apps that parse unique digital artifacts, and tools that integrate EnCase products with third-party applications. EnCase users can join EnCase App Central by registering at: http://www.guidancesoftware.com/appcentral.

Guidance Software invites developers who have created EnScripts or who would like to do so to contribute to EnCase App Central. The EnCase Software Developers Kit (SDK) allows programmers to develop apps for EnCase Version 7.05. The EnCase App Central Developer Network can be found at http://www.guidancesoftware.com/appcentraldeveloper.
