TASER Sells 500 Weapons to U.S. Army

On Monday, TASER Internationalannounced a series of new sales contracts for its stun guns, including X2 TASER sales (of unspecified size) to police departments in Arkansas, Colorado, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Nebraska.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Army ordered 500 of TASER's X26 conducted electrical weapons, while the Atlanta Police Department ordered 200 TASER X2 smart weapons, along with an unspecified number of TASER Cam HD video recorders.

Financial terms of the sales were not disclosed in the press release, but at advertised list prices, the 500 TASER X26s sold to the Army should approximate $535,000 in value, while the 200 TASER X2s going to Georgia could be worth about $250,000. In all, the sales reported Monday could add approximately $800,000 to Q1 earnings.
