Xplore Secures Additional Seven-Figure Military Contract for its Rugged Tablets

Second order continues Xplore's strong partnership with the U.S. Armed Forces

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Xplore Technologies Corp. (NAS: XPLR) , the manufacturer of the world's most powerful, longest-lasting and rugged tablet in the market, today announced a significant purchase of its iX104C5 DMSR-M rugged tablet from the U.S. military. The order of more than 200 rugged tablets will be delivered during the next two months.

Xplore Technologies' iX104C5 DMSR-M is certified for use on military frontlines and fixed-wing aircraft, and was chosen for its select features, which include the ability to operate without jamming or interrupting radio signals, real-time video streaming, a high performance operating system, and its ability to seamlessly interface with specialized equipment. This order, a continuation of the multi-million dollar win the company announced in December 2012, marks Xplore's second largest purchase from the military sector in recent months.

"Our products are the only truly upgradeable and field replaceable rugged tablet PCs that offer high reliability, a low failure rate and a fast processing speed that enable military personnel to execute mission plans in the most challenging conditions and, in some cases, save lives," said Mark Holleran, president and chief operating officer for Xplore Technologies.

"This order coupled with the previous order from the U.S. military, is a result of strategic product and market investments we have made in the defense sector, " said Philip S. Sassower, chairman and chief executive officer for Xplore Technologies. "This purchase continues the solid relationship we have established with our military customers and affirms our military strategy."

The iX104C5 DMSR-M rugged tablet is designed for frontline personnel, and is built to meet military specifications (MIL-STD-810G) in the most extreme environments. The tablet can withstand a seven-foot drop while operating, offers an award-winning sunlight readable display, is impenetrable to dust and debris, and operates in explosion-prone areas without causing sparks.
