Chase Conducts Robotics Program in Three Chicago Schools

Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Graders Design Software, Build Robots and Run an Obstacle Course

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Continuing its efforts to support technology education, JPMorgan Chase (NYS: JPM) is hosting a day of service at three Chicago schools where company professionals will help introduce middle school students to the power of technology and the opportunities it can bring.

Using robotics, the JPMorgan Chase volunteer will introduce fourth, fifth and sixth grade students to software algorithm design and robot programming, teaching core technology skills. Using Lego Mindstorms Robots, JPMorgan Chase employees will teach students the basic mechanics of software, how to design robotic software, and coach the students and their robots through an advanced obstacle course.

"JPMorgan Chase is proud to participate in educational events like the Youth Day of Service," said JPMorgan Chase Chief Information Officer Guy Chiarello. "Students learn better when they enjoy the lesson, and what better combination than teaching these core technology skills while allowing students the fun and creative outlet of building robots? It's a win-win for everyone."
