Chevron Announces Winners of Second Annual Lubricant Carrier Recognition Awards

-- Awards Recognize Customer Service, Safety and Performance --

SAN RAMON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Chevron Products Company, maker of technologically advanced engine oils, lubricants and coolants, recently held its second annual Carrier Recognition Awardsat Hotel Zaza, Houston Texas on February 6, 2013. The focus of the event was to communicate, reinforce and emphasize Chevron's commitment to safety, performance and customer service by recognizing partners that exemplify these values. The awards were based on performance during 2012.


"The Carrier Recognition Awards are issued to our carrier partners that help elevate the perception of Chevron and our lubricant brands through a combination of safety, service and performance," said Barbara Burger, vice president Supply Chain and Base Oil with Chevron Lubricants. "Although our award criteria is difficult to achieve, we are very proud that so many of our carriers have met or exceeded the service levels needed to qualify. We want to congratulate all our carrier partners for the fine work they do, but in particular, our Carrier Recognition Award winners, for their exceptional performance in 2012."

To be considered for an award, carriers must have moved a minimum volume of 200 full truckload or LTL shipments in 2012. For bulk carriers the minimum requirement was 150 shipments in comparison to intermodal carriers that were expected to move more than 100 shipments.

Awards were presented in the following categories:

Safety

The safety award was given to top qualified carriers based on CSA, a plant safety survey and zero incidents in 2013. Awardees included:

  • Andrews Logistics

  • Renn Transportation*

Customer Service

The customer serviceaward was given to carriers that achieved "on-time" ratings of 90% or better - for pickup and delivery of goods, accepted more than 85% of loads tendered to them on their primary lanes coupled with strong survey results from the locations they served. Awardees included:

  • Averitt Express

  • JB Hunt

  • Martin Transport*

  • Market Transport

  • Pacer Global Logistics

  • Usher Transport*

Performance

The Outstanding Overall Performance award was given tocarriers that demonstrated a combination of exceptional customer service, high commitment (as measured by their acceptance of loads tendered), freight pay accuracy and safety performance. Awardees included:

  • Edwards Transport Services

  • Estes Express

  • Renn Transportation*

  • Usher Transport

*Carrier has received this award two consecutive years.
