Michigan Governor Rick Snyder Headlines Thought Leadership Event
DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, joining via live web stream from his office, will be a presenter at the Manufacturing in America Symposium, sponsored by Siemens and Electro-Matic Products, Inc.The two-day event, being held March 20-21 at Ford Field and the GEM Theater in Detroit, will bring together manufacturing and automotive industry executives, technology leaders and innovators to explore how technology is driving a manufacturing renaissance in America.
"The changes happening in the Detroit auto industry are at the forefront of what could become the new industrial revolution," says Raj Batra, president of Siemens Industry Automation Division."Across the world, the global manufacturing sector is searching for ways to become more competitive, as old ideas about the production process are being replaced by new technologies that are combining the digital and physical manufacturing process, driving innovation, productivity and efficiency," adds Batra.
The Manufacturing in America Symposium will feature in-depth presentations, discussions and best practices focused on manufacturing, particularly in the automotive industry.There will be a thought leadership summit with leaders from companies such as Ford, GM, BMW and Comau, among others, presenting on topics such as "Global Standards to Reduce Total Cost of Ownership," "Success Factors for Manufacturing in the U.S.," "Holistic Approaches to a Sustainable Redesign of an Energy Efficient Factory" and "Making it in America - Build Where You Sell."Several of these industry leaders will also participate in panel discussion moderated by IndustryWeek magazine.
The Symposium will host a microfair, a 3D movie emphasizing the role of automation innovations and a Technology Tip-Off, featuring more than 40 technical seminars and a host of vendor exhibits.
