Hertz Global Holdings (NYS: HTZ) reported earnings on Feb. 25. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31 (Q4), Hertz Global Holdings beat slightly on revenues and beat expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue expanded significantly. Non-GAAP earnings per share grew significantly. GAAP earnings per share shrank to a loss.

EPS came in at $0.33. The eight earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.31 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.33 for Q4 were 38% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.24 per share. GAAP EPS were -$0.09 for Q4 compared to $0.11 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 22.8%, 30 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 12.4%, 130 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -1.6%, 390 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $2.39 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.16.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $10.88 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.89.
The stock has a two-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 182 members out of 261 rating the stock outperform, and 79 members rating it underperform.
