Google Opens "Books" to India

Updated

Indian customers now have access to thousands of Indian books -- from new releases to classics -- on Google Play.

A year after launching Google Play, the company's digital entertainment hub to buy Android apps and games, the company is adding books to Google Play for people in India. Customers can buy thousands of titles including works from Indian authors and international best sellers.

Using an Android phone or tablet, customers can purchase books in the Google Play Store and begin reading them instantly on the Google Play Books app. Customers can also access Google Play through a Web browser and via an app on iPhones and iPads.
