EMRapproved.com Shares CCHIT Certification Resources to Benefit HIT Developers and Medical Community

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Chicago healthcare information technology (HIT) company EMRapproved is announcing a new affiliation with the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®) that promotes access to its online tools for testing and certification preparation and its certified product listings. CCHIT is an Accredited Testing Laboratory (ATL) and an Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) Authorized Certification Body (ACB) for the purposes of both testing and certifying electronic health record (EHR) technology in the ONC 2011 and 2014 Edition programs. The Commission has certified more than 1,000 EHR products since 2006 and is the most experienced EHR technology certification body in the U.S.

The medical and healthcare community will greatly benefit from the incorporation of links to CCHIT resources as they research certified products on the EMRapproved web site. Additionally, a link to "The Source™" - a web-based collection of CCHIT certification management services - will promote access to searchable guidance, online preparation tools, open forums and certification maintenance for commercial HIT developers working with EMRapproved. CCHIT will also provide visitors to its web sites with links to the expanded free expert columns, content and tools provided by EMRapproved.

On March 26 CCHIT will present a free Learning Lunch Webinar at EMRapproved.com for HIT developers on the topic of changes to the testing and certification processes. More information and registration is available at EMRapproved.com.

"Our mutual goal is to assist with the widespread adoption and acceleration of interoperable HIT. We are pleased to highlight CCHIT on our web site and appreciate the opportunity to reach their developer and provider stakeholders and provide access to our extensive content. Visitors to EMRapproved.com, in particular the numerous HIT developers and sponsors of our free resources and the 4MedMarketplace, will certainly benefit from the partnership," said Kevin Donnelly, CEO of EMRapproved.

"With the launch of ONC's new 2014 Edition testing and certification program for HIT, there is a growing need for support for both EHR technology purchasers and developers in understanding the significant changes in the program," said Sue Reber, CCHIT's outreach and marketing director. "Our new affiliation with EMRapproved will allow us to reach a wider audience and provide broader access to our educational tools and other preparation materials to provide that support."

EMRapproved will exhibit at the HIMSS13 Annual Conference & Exhibition in New Orleans in booth #7916 to highlight the benefits of its many new affiliations. Exhibit attendees will not only be able to find CCHIT certification information but will also be able to register for upcoming collaborative webinars at EMRapproved.com and become marketplace sponsors of that organization. Booth interaction opportunities include on-demand new sponsor signup, site resource demonstrations, side-by-side product comparisons and more.
