AECOM awarded US$43.9-million contract to provide design services for Honolulu Rail Transit Project
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AECOM Technical Services, Inc., a subsidiary of AECOM Technology Corporation (NYS: ACM) , a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for public and private clients in more than 140 countries around the world, announced today that it is working on a US$43.9-million contract from the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation to provide design services for a portion of Hawaii's Honolulu Rail Transit Project.
AECOM is responsible for the final design of the City Center Section — the 3.9-mile fourth and final segment of the project. The contract includes all of the structural and civil design aspects of the aerial guideway, except for the stations and systems components.

The overall project has an estimated construction value of US$5.17 billion and will run 20 miles in its entirety, from Kapolei to Honolulu's Ala Moana Shopping Center. It is slated to open during 2019.
