Macy's (NYS: M) reported earnings on Feb. 26. Here are the numbers you need to know.

Macy's chalked up revenue of $9.35 billion. The 16 analysts polled by S&P Capital IQ wanted to see sales of $9.34 billion on the same basis. GAAP reported sales were 7.2% higher than the prior-year quarter's $8.72 billion.

EPS details
EPS came in at $2.05. The 15 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $1.98 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $2.05 for Q4 were 21% higher than the prior-year quarter's $1.70 per share. GAAP EPS of $1.83 for Q4 were 4.6% higher than the prior-year quarter's $1.75 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 40.6%, 40 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 14.9%, 50 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 7.8%, 70 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $6.34 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.51.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $28.32 billion. The average EPS estimate is $3.82.
