Cypress Semiconductor Declares Its First Dividend of 2013

Updated

Cypress Semiconductor has declared its latest quarterly dividend, and its first for 2013. The company will hand out $0.11 per share of its common stock on April 18 to shareholders of record as of March 28, keeping the company's dividend steady. It paid the same amount in all four quarters of 2012, after paying out $0.09 per share.

In the press release announcing the move, Cypress said it expected the dividend would not be sourced from its retained earnings and would be treated as return of capital for tax purposes.

The new dividend annualizes to $0.44 per share, which yields 4.5% at Cypress' current stock price of $9.84.
