Greenway Receives NCQA Prevalidation with Industry-Leading 20.5 Auto Credit Points Toward PCMH 2011 Scoring

High Auto Credit Number Helps Decrease Time, Effort to Achieve PCMH 2011 Recognition

CARROLLTON, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc., which delivers innovative software and business service solutions for healthcare providers, announced today that its PrimeSUITE® electronic health record (EHR) platform, including embedded data-exchange capabilities and patient portal, has achieved Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) 2011 Prevalidation status from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The PrimeSUITE solution set received a high award of 20.5 points in auto credit toward supporting PCMH 2011 scoring.

PCMH is an innovative model for improving primary care. In a set of standards that describe clear and specific criteria, the program gives practices information about organizing care around patients, working in teams and coordinating and tracking care over time. The NCQA PCMH Prevalidation is designed to help practices identify products that alleviate or make more efficient administrative aspects of meeting PCMH 2011 requirements. The PCMH Prevalidation program evaluates EHR systems, advanced registries, population health management tools and other related technology solutions providing functionality that completely meet factor-level requirements within NCQA's PCMH 2011 standards.

Once evaluated by NCQA, the product is considered "Prevalidated" and awarded automatic credits that can then be transferred to practices, eliminating the need to document for the associated factors within their PCMH 2011 survey.

Greenway's PrimeSUITE, interoperability engine and patient portal are PCMH-prevalidated by NCQA to receive 20.5 points in auto credit toward NCQA's PCMH 2011 scoring. This auto credit is transferable to Greenway's PCMH customer practices seeking NCQA's PCMH 2011 Recognition. Greenway's PCMH-eligible customer practices must be actively utilizing the reviewed capabilities associated with Greenway's PCMH prevalidated products to be eligible for transfer of awarded auto credit.

Improving Patient Outcomes and Population Health

"PrimeSUITE's 20.5 points in auto credit toward PCMH 2011 scoring making it especially easy for providers to achieve their desired level of PCMH recognition while also realizing the benefits of a highly interoperable EHR," said Tee Green, Greenway® president and chief executive officer. "Greenway applauds the PCMH initiative as a contributor to the ultimate health IT goals of improving patient outcomes and overall population health."

NCQA President Margaret E. O'Kane stated that "By providing software that helps physician practices build the patient-focused, coordinated care infrastructure expected of NCQA patient-centered medical homes, Greenway is helping practices be part of modern healthcare's most important transformations. Medical homes are the way of the future, and Greenway's PrimeSUITE solution set is helping practices get there."
