Boston Scientific to Launch Neuromodulation Products in Japan
Medical device company Boston Scientific announced in a press statement Thursday that its subsidiary, Boston Scientific Japan K.K., has agreed with Japanese firm Fukuda Denshi to market and distribute Boston Scientific's Spinal Cord Precision Plus System in Japan.
The Precision Plus System is part of Boston Scientific's neuromodulation division, one of its faster-growing businesses by sales. Japan is the world's second-largest medical device market and, according to the release, Fukuda Denshi already boasts "extensive sales resources" and a distribution infrastructure in the country to market the product.
More than 60,000 patients worldwide are already using the Precision Plus System, according to Boston Scientific. Under the terms of the agreement, Fukuda Denshi will begin distribution on April 1 of this year.
