Baker's Michael Ryan Receives Award From ACEC/PA

HARRISBURG, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Michael M. Ryan, P.E., vice president of transportation for Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE MKT:BKR), was presented with The Distinguished Award of Merit by the American Council of Engineering Companies/Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA) on February 7, 2013, at its Annual Banquet which recognizes the best consultant projects for 2012. He received the award for leading the Keystone Transportation Funding Coalition's effort to meet with nearly every member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly to advance funding for transportation.

"Mike sets the bar for an extraordinary volunteer effort for an ACEC/PA member," the organization said in presenting the award. "His actions are widely felt throughout our industry as ACEC/PA and the Keystone Transportation Funding Coalition are well-known throughout the halls of the state Capitol."


Ryan joined Baker in 2008 as vice president of transportation in the Harrisburg, Pa., office. Previously, he served five years as vice president of H.W. Lochner, Inc., which followed a 35-year career with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation where he held several management positions including district engineer, state director of maintenance, chief engineer and deputy secretary for highway administration. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University, and is a member of several professional trade associations.
