US Ecology Beats on Both Top and Bottom Lines
US Ecology (NAS: ECOL) reported earnings on Feb. 14. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31 (Q4), US Ecology beat expectations on revenues and beat expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue grew significantly and GAAP earnings per share contracted.

EPS came in at $0.36. The two earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.31 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.33 for Q4 were 11% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.37 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 36.3%, 230 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 21.5%, 350 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 12.1%, 400 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $38.4 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.27.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $176.9 million. The average EPS estimate is $1.46.
