TripAdvisor (NAS: TRIP) reported earnings on May 9. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.50. The 22 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.46 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.50 for Q1 were 43% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.35 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.43 for Q1 were 23% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.35 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 98.4%, 10 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 38.4%, 150 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 27.1%, 90 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
