The Sims 3: Island Paradise brings underwater exploration to the Sims later this year

Updated

While many Sims 3 players have their eyes only set on The Sims 3 University Life, the expansion that will launch this March, EA is already looking even farther into the future with the upcoming release of the Island Paradise expansion. This tropical update to The Sims 3 will see plenty of new updates added to our games, including the ability for players to build, own or manage a themed beach resort.

From family friendly resorts full of waterslides and buffet tables to romantic retreats built for two, The Sims 3 Island Paradise will allow your Sims to vacation like never before. Add in singles resorts with pool bars and plenty of flirting and you'll have plenty of popular hot spots for both your own Sims and stranger Sims alike.

Housing options are going to be upgraded in this newest update as well, with the ability to build homes on stilts out over the water's surface. Players can also live on House Boats and travel with their entire homes intact to find some new surroundings. Finally, underwater exploration will become available in Island Paradise, as Sims can go snorkeling on the surface of the water or even scuba diving deep under the surface. With luck, your Sim(s) will find more than just fish under the water, as sunken treasure is also up for grabs to those lucky players.

The Sims 3 Island Paradise is now available for pre-order on both PC / Mac, but the final release date is still unknown. Stick with us for more details on The Sims 3: Island Paradise, as we'll bring you more information about the expansion as it becomes available.
