Goldcorp Misses on Revenues but Beats on EPS

Goldcorp (NYS: GG) reported earnings on Feb. 14. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.57. The 19 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $0.55 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.47 for Q4 were 38% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.34 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 53.5%, 560 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 37.1%, 920 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 35.1%, 840 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.40 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.46.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $6.11 billion. The average EPS estimate is $2.13.
